Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things and cloud computing

Industry 4.0 creates what has been called a “smart factory”. Within the modular structured smart factories, cyber-physical systems monitor physical processes, create a virtual copy of the physical world and make decentralized decisions. Over the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems communicate and cooperate with each other and with humans in real time, and via the Internet of Services, both internal and cross-organizational services are offered and used by participants of the value chain.

۱- Sebastian Scholze: Studied Computer Science at the University of Bremen. Since 2000, he is working as scientific staff member at ATB. He is Involved in diverse CEC funded RTD projects since the 5th FP. Furthermore, he has long term project experience in several fields (e.g. Automotive, Manufacturing, Logistics and Healthcare). He has excellent IT skills in programming languages (java, c/c++, perl, python), database systems (oracle, informix, mysql), development methodologies (RAD, XP, RUP, OOP). Active in researching on context aware approaches and systems, object-based software models and methodologies for optimising the software development process for distributed, SOA, agent-based and interoperable and context aware systems and web-based applications. He is working as project (e.g. Self-Learning, U-Qasar, AsKoWi, EngineeringWiki) and local project manager (e.g. K-Net, EPES) in several EU and direct research projects. Currently, he is involved in the following EU-projects: UQASAR, EPES, ProSEco. He was acting as coordinator of the FP7 Self-Learning project as well as the H2020 U-Qasar project.

۲- Roberto Da Forno:Roberto Da Forno, MSc in Mechanical Engineering, 1988, PhD in Mechanical Measurements for Engineering, 1991.

۳- Pietro Perlo: Pietro took his Laurea degree in General Physics at the University of Torino in 1980 where he continued his activities for over 15 years as contract professor. As director at Centro Ricerche Fiat he has coordinated large programmes on high power lasers robotics, photonics and microcombustion. In the last decade he has originated quite a number of EU projects on advanced systems development and integration for efficient electrical mobility. He his author of over 150 technical and scientific publications and holder of several patents that have led to large scale productions in automotive-general-emergency lighting and infrared intrusion sensors. In 2011 he founded his company “Interactive Fully Electrical Vehicles” I-FEVS.

۴- Claudio Canedese: Claudio Cenedese is an electronic engineer in charge of Scouting, Academic Contacts and EU Research Project Manager at the Electrolux GTC (Global Technology Research Center – Italy). In Such a position he has the responsibility of scouting new technological and business opportunities with mid-long term perspective. During his career, he run and managed several tens Industrial and R&D Projects in different applicative sectors: Industrial Systems, Electronic Product Development, Advanced Electronic Solutions, Product Innovation. In the present position Claudio is also in charge of relationships with Universities and EU Research Projects. He is inventor or co-inventor in more than 20 industrial patents.

۵- Prof. Javad Jassbi: Prof. Javad Jassbi is a senior researcher in Uninova, Nova University of Lisbon, and professor at the Department of Industrial Management in I.A.U., Science & Research branch. He received his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997, MSc in Strategic Management from I.A.U., and PhD in Industrial Management (System) in 2003. He did his Post-Doc in fuzzy knowledge-based systems in Nova University of Lisbon in 2005 and was invited as an Academic Visitor to Bristol Business School in 2010. He was the Head of Business Management Department at Azad University in Oxford and Head of Industrial Management Department in Science and Research branch, I.A.U. His research interests include Application of Artificial Intelligence (Fuzzy Logic), Decision Making and Complex System Theory. Thanks to his educational background and industrial experiences, he is keen to work on Multi disciplinary subjects. He has published several academic papers in a number of peer reviewed journals and presented various academic papers in conferences. He is consulting a number of companies and has research collaborations in several industries. He has been leading several national and international projects since 2005 and enjoying working on European projects since he went to Europe. He has international experiences in working with educational institutions and Research Centers in other countries such as the Iran, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and Portugal. Prof. Jassbi is now in charge of Dissemination of the Projects in “Robotics and Complex Industrial Group (RICS)” targeting MENA (Middle East and North Africa).

۶- V. Cruz-Machado: V. Cruz-Machado holds a Ph.D. in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (Cranfield University, UK). He is a full professor of Industrial Engineering at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. He is the director of the Industrial Engineering Doctoral Program and other post-graduate programs in industrial engineering, project management, lean & green sustainability and entrepreneurship. He teaches operations and production management and has published more than 300 papers in scientific journals and conferences, in addition to having supervised more than thirty Ph.D. students. His main scientific activities are directed to the design of new manufacturing systems. He was the CEO of a large consultancy company; coordinator of a major National R&D program directed for SMEs, and; a consultant member of the commission responsible for the implementation of Horizon 2020 – the European framework program for research and innovation (2014-2020). He is the Head of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the CEO of UNIDEMI Research Center (http://unidemi.com/) and the president of the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Engineers.

۷- Diogo Quental: For the last years, Diogo has been dedicating his professional time to 3D Printing. His experience in the area started at BEEVERYCREATIVE that he co-founded in 2012 and where he was CEO from May 2013 for two and half years. Altought Beeverycreative sucess he sold his part of the company and co-founded another Getready 4 3D. He consider the start of a company magic. GetReady4 3D is a company aiming to provide 3D Printing literacy. Currently he is CEO of a German company iGo3D GmbH. He is graduated in management by ISAG-European Business School and he hold an MBA by INSEAD (2003). Before moving to Hannover, Germany, he lived in Portugal, England, Italy, Mozambique and France, where he managed people and projects. Besides his passion for 3D Printing, he is also interested in startups, in emerging technologies and always looking for ways to create value! Recent experience as speaker in several conferences about 4.0 Industry, 3D Print Farms in Brussels, Madrid, Lisbon, London, etc.

۸- Professor Dr.-Ing. Hans Wernher van de Venn: Prof Dr.-Ing. Hans Wernher van de Venn studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany. As research associate with the European Centre of Mechatronics at RWTH Aachen he worked in the fields of fluid technology, field bus systems, robotics, mechatronics and remote service. He obtained his PhD Degree for a thesis entitled: Internet based remote diagnostics and servicing of machines and devices.

In June 2000, he was nominated professor of mechatronics, automation and microsystems engineering and head of the microsystems engineering group at the University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). Since 2006, Prof. van de Venn is heading the Institute of Mechatronic Systems (IMS) at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). In addition to his research and development activities, he teaches at different academic levels and participates in the planning and organisation of Bachelor and Master Curricula of the Swiss universities of applied sciences. He has given invited lectures at many national and international conferences, has published one Book and has authored and co-authored over 50 scientific papers.

As former president of the national technology platform, ManuFuture-CH, he represented the Swiss universities of applied sciences on a national and international level. At present he is amongst others co-ordinator of the EU FP7 Research Project Robo-Mate (http:// www.robo-mate.eu) and founding president of the Swiss Mechatronics cluster (www.swiss-mechatronics.ch)

۹- PROFESSOR MAURO ONORI: PROFESSOR MAURO ONORI is the current Head of Department of Production Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology, School of Industrial Engineering & Management. Prof. Onori has published over 150 articles, has been European Project Leader since 2006 with participation since 1999, including projects E-Race, EUPASS, AssemblyNet, IDEAS, openMOS, etc. Prof. Onori has also been guest lecturer at both École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the New University of Lisbon (UNL). Onori has also received several awards including the Japan Robot Association Award (JARA).

۱۰- Omid Givehchi: Omid Givehchi is Innovation Manager with Schneider Electric in Machine Solutions as part of the Industry Business. He received M.Sc. in Industrial Information Technology from Lippe Universty, Germany in cooperation with Halmstad University, Sweden. He is Ph.D. candidate in Ghent University, Belgium working on his thesis about Industrial cyber-physical systems. His main activities include investigation and offer of Industry 4.0 and IIoT solutions and technologies for industrial users world-wide. He is active member of several international organizations and working groups contributing to future industrial revolution e.g. German Industry 4.0 clusters: it’s OWL and ZVEI, OPC Foundation, FDT Community and etc.

۱۱-Pedro Sousa: Pedro Sousa has a PhD in Electrical Engineering (Industrial Information Systems) from the New University of Lisbon in 2004 and a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the same university in 1999. He has been lecturing in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon (FCT/UNL) since 1997. He is also an visiting professor for the Computer Science Phd program in UPM Spain. During 5 years, he was a member of the Management Board of the FCT/UNL, and at the present time he is President of the General Assembly of FCT.ID.NOVA, the Research Institute of FCT/UNL. Since 1992 he has been collaborating with the Intelligent Robotics Centre at the UNINOVA Institute in the areas of E-commerce, Multi-agents Knowledge Discovery and Education, where he is responsible for R&D dissemination results. In the last 10 years, he published more than 50 R&D papers, (15 in International Journals and 32 in International Conferences with peer reviewing). He is researcher/coordinator of multiple European Union R&D projects and ESA – European Space Agency projects. Founder of HOLOS, SA, he holds the Presidency of the Board of Directors and he is responsible for Business Development and Innovation. He is also the General Manager of Holos Middle East FZCO, a company created in 2009 and based in Dubai Silicon Oasis, United Arab Emirates, to serve the Middle East Region. He is also the responsible for Business development in the Sub-Saharan Africa Region. In 2013 he founded GRAMO – Reflection Group of Africa and Middle East, a debating society holding no political views, aiming to promote debate and discussion, about Africa and Middle East issues.

۱۲- Erastos Filos: Within the European Commission’s Research and Innovation Directorate-General, Mr Filos is responsible for the coordination of activities related to ICT and Factories of the Future and also manages the European Secretariat of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) initiative, a global international collaborative R&D programme involving industrially led R&D consortia from Mexico, the United States, South Africa and the European Union. Born in Athens, Greece he obtained his MSc in Physics from Hamburg University, Germany, and worked as a Researcher at the High-Energy Physics Lab (DESY) in Hamburg. He holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Konstanz University, Germany. After eight years of university research he started his career in industry as project manager at Perkin Elmer Corporation and then as leader of the electronics design team at Bosch Telecom in Heidelberg, Germany. After 15 years of activity in university and industry he joined the European Commission’s research framework programme in 1993 as Scientific Officer. Mr Filos is author of a large number of research articles and contributor to four books.
